Radio Lwazi aims to educate, entertain, inspire, and enrich listeners through an eclectic mix of political views, musical, cultural, educational, and community affairs programs and services. Our station acts as forum for people and issues that typically lack media access and promotes positive social change. Radio Lwazi programming shall place an emphasis on providing a forum for the voiceless and neglected perspectives and discussions on important local, national and global issues, reflecting values of Liberty, Freedom, with a kin focus on Peace building, social, economic and environmental justice, human rights, democracy, multiculturalism, freedom of expression, social and political change for the betterment of the common person. Radio Lwazi educates the public about issues affecting their communities, with a biased focus on the Great Lakes Region of Africa, through the production and distribution of public-interest media. Radio Lwazi accomplishes this by operating a "public press" - media that operates independent of profit-motive influences, and in partnership with the communities it serves. By complimenting but not duplicating what is offered by other media, Lwazi offers a look into The great Lakes Region's cultures, ideologies and concerns - exposing citizens to views of life unlikely to be seen in the traditional media. Radio Lwazi concerns its self with the provision of advocacy media, according a voice to Human Rights activists working towards ending the political and economic malady affecting the Region. And, importantly, Radio facilitates dialogue between those citizens who might not otherwise interact as they work towards improving the political, social and economic welfare of the citizens of the Great Lakes Region. Radio Lwazi provides a solid rock foundation for the building of Democratic institutions in the region for the betterment of the peoples’ livelihood. Letting the voiceless be heard in the construction of their destiny is our goal.
